Position Summary:
Bryant Zhuhai invites applications for a faculty position with expertise in any Science discipline. Rank will depend upon both academic credentials and experience. Ideal candidates will have a Masters (minimum) or Ph.D. in any Science discipline. Native English speakers are preferred. This is a three-year appointment starting in the spring 2022 semester on or around March 1st, which may be renewed. The academic year at Bryant Zhuhai runs from early September to late June and includes a winter break during Spring Festival (Chinese New Year).
Bryant Zhuhai currently offers several programs (in which English is the medium of instruction) in a joint venture partnership betweenBryantUniversityinSmithfield,Rhode Island,USAand Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai (BITZH) and is planning to launch additional degrees in the near future.
Bryant Zhuhai, which welcomed its first cohort of students in fall 2015, is located in the city ofZhuhaiinGuangdongProvincein southernChinanear Hong Kong andMacau.GuangdongProvinceis a very important area forChina’s economy, providing 10 percent ofChina’s total GDP and the location for many ofChina’s innovative manufacturing operations. A 32-mile-long bridge connecting Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macau was opened in 2019 to increase the movement of people and commerce between Hong Kong and mainlandChinaandMacau. mainland
Principal Accountabilities:This position includes teaching undergraduate courses and labs in a Science discipline, as well as contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities and institutional services.
Qualifications:
Depending on rank, this position includes teaching undergraduate courses in a Science discipline, engaging in relevant research, and contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities and other institutional service. Minimum of a Master’s degree in an appropriate field required; Ph.D. preferred. The instructional program is English-immersion and requires fluency in both academic and colloquial American English. Native English speakers are preferred.
